Candy Bars

This Drawing Has Learned Me Something

Here is another envelope drawing I did for my sister for her fifty-two letters in a year project. The Three Musketeers. Have you ever wondered why it's called the Three Musketeers and not Two or One Musketeer … I haven't either until I saw their advertisement!

Because without 3, you can't double dutch
Because 2 musketeers would think they're looking in a mirror.
Because 1 musketeer can't use the carpool lane

This was done with markers, fine liner pens, and some watercolors.

KitKat Fine liner Pen

This is the second candy bar envelope that I drew. Probably my favorite two candy bars, 3 Musketeers and KitKat, I like Twix too, so I might have to draw a Twix as well.

Thank you for viewing these envelopes!

What is your favorite candy bar?

What should I draw next on an envelope?

Wood burning & Watercolor

 Watercoloring Kirk Cousins

I sat down at the table, did a little sketch, and then dipped by brush into water

That's how this piece began. And after the paint was laid - it looked just like the photo above.

Wood Burning

This piece started a bit different. Still with watercolor but it was first burned on a piece of wood with a hot tool called a wood burner. And even before that it was traced on to the wood … and before that it was thought about for some time, trying to find the best position for each player.

Now go forward a few steps and we return to the step where this piece is being painted. With watercolor.

After it was all done I decided to cut a little frame for it to nicen up the edges. This piece features quarterback, Kirk Cousins, wide receiver, Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson, tight end, Kyle Rudolph, and running back, Dalvin Cook from the MINNESOTA VIKINGS

My plan is to get all of their signatures so if any of you are reading this blog, yeah that's you Kirk, Kyle, Dalvin, Justin, or Adam. You guys should come sign this artwork for me!

This could be my last …

My Last Saints on 7.25 x 9.75 paper?

Saint Dymphna

It brings me great sadness that I must abandon this project with this last piece of Saint Dymphna. The last 'Saint on 7.25 X 9.75 Paper' - I had high hopes that I could finish all fifty-two drawings, but as I shuffled through my folder I discovered only one page left that measured 7.25 by 9.75 inches, it is the one you see below, Saint Dymphna.

  • Patron saint of the mentally ill

But I will continue … only it'll be different size paper.

I'll have to use 7 X 10, only a tiny difference of 0.6875 inches in area. - They won't take as long!

More Envelopes

Envelope Painting

Here are a few more envelopes

A smell this envelope with a lotus flower painted on. The flower didn't turn out how I liked so I added a message to cancel out the perfection.

A little chickadee watercolor.

A blue jay, this was my first envelope bird.

A cardinal.

This is my favorite in this series, a can of Bush's Original Baked Beans. I might have to do a larger version of this.

I hope you enjoyed these envelopes.
