🖊 Inktober Artist Tag – Day #28
Welcome to Day 28 of my Inktober challenge! Each day, I’m drawing a different prompt with a simple Catholic twist. Today’s theme is “Skeletal”, and I chose to reflect on ossuaries.
Today’s Drawing Prompt: “skeletal”

I read about ossuaries in a book titles, "The Weird Catholic Handbook" before that I had never heard of em. They are basically little shrines decorated with bones of the dead. (I know, it sounds pretty creepy or weird) It is also a way to practice the devotion of Memento Mori - Remember your death. It makes more room in the cemeteries if they are out of space. I am sure there are other reasons as well. They are pretty common in Europe. This picture I drew was a photo based on a crypt in Rome.
🗣 Questions for Readers
- Have you ever been to an ossuary?
Thanks for following along! I’ll be posting a new Catholic-themed Inktober drawing every day. Check back tomorrow for the next prompt!
