Who am I?

Who am I?

A stunning question many have asked and few have received the answer.

First of all who is the Artist (Esteban Barnes)?

He's a high school college graduate continuing his love for drawing and painting - sharing his talent with whomever comes across it to find it interesting. Even if no one ever finds his art, he will keep on painting and drawing and peeling images from his imagination to put on paper.

How did he get started?

He began to draw from...he cannot even remember, (that's a long time). He guesses probably around the age of four he began scribbling in his coloring books and sticking the pages to his fridge as his mother cried out, "Oh! That's so beautiful." Thinking to herself, 'What is it?'

Although he doesn't remember being able to color or draw as an infant, but maybe he was able to chew the pencil - if that counts as art? So he's been pursuing the arts since the early 2000’s, starting at the age of four; scribbling in the coloring books, and slowly moving to the copy paper putting artistic marks over the whole page. After that he probably began to draw stick people, and stick cars, and stick houses - he was obsessed with drawing sticks to create things; or maybe they call sticks lines in art.

He slowly began to develop his artistic talent with persistence and patience. From the stick people he slowly learned how to add value to his work to create the illusion of form and depth. From there his art kept getting better and more realistic.

What keeps him motivated to keep drawing and painting?

Well, Bob Ross of course. That's only one reason, there are many other reasons. Bob Ross may inspire him, but he gets ideas from the world around him and just feels the need to put them on paper, like a journalist taking notes - except he uses visuals. Many things around him inspire him, like the bottles sitting on the dining room table or the trees waving to him in the wind; the inspiration and ideas are endless for him.

Even old and famous artists inspire him. They unlock new ideas from their old ideas. He realizes that he has an eye for art; he sees shapes and shadows as he wanders through this world. He doesn't see a building, he sees a rectangle. Not a glass of milk, but a cylinder and a shadow under the sunlight.
