Happy Thanksgiving! But...

 Happy Thanksgiving Two days late.

I wasn't late drawing this picture, just getting it uploaded to this blog, so I was actually only half late. I drew this a while back preparing for a Thanksgiving/fall post, but it's kind of already winter - maybe I'll do a winter themed piece next?

Anyway, here is the fall/Thanksgiving drawing. It is done with colored pencil and ink on paper - 11x17 paper.

A female and male turkey inked in surrounded by pumpkins

There's a little color. Ooh! Look at that moose!

Those feathers are gorgeous! Tasty!

Gobble! Gobble! Nice pumpkin stem.

Beautiful antlers.

There's the whole picture.

Zoom in on those turkeys!

A moose fully colored.

The final product! Hope you like this drawing of this Thanksgiving themed picture. Comment below your favorite fall activity. Come on let's get a discussion going now! You can even discuss a completely different topic if you'd like just get your opinion in the comment section below - make your voice heard!

Back with more Art!

Pen to the Paper in France

It has been a while since I've posted my artwork here, so here we are. Up first is a streetscape of France. It is done in pen on paper.

Current Work

I am currently working on another 18 x 24 inch oil painting, so I'll be back with more art soon, and I'll be continuing on with my series of colored pencil saints as well.

This one below is a collage of the different stages as I painted. I started out with acrylic paint and am in the process of finishing it off with oil paint. I'll just need to touch up the faces and hands and paint the background, but so far it is turning out OK.

I hope you enjoyed viewing this art, comment below on your favorite piece, or explain why you didn't like a certain piece.

What should I draw next?

I've decided to start a new category ...

 Photography

Sketched Drawn Painted and Captured? Yes, this section of the blog is "Captured", the photography section.

I recently went on a trip to Duluth with my family and had lots of fun photographing. I'll post them here and you can post your thoughts in the comments.

Letter D is Complete

Saint Dominic De Guzman

I've finished Saint Dominic for the Saints A-Z series. I wasn't sure what to do for the background so I just went with some shades of yellow. This is the first drawing on the 7 X 10 paper! My 9th saint drawing in the series, only 43 more. Once I finish the series I'll have covered approximately 3,640 square inches of paper in colored pencils, that's about 25 square feet.

Drawing black and white with colored pencils is always challenging for me, but I think it turned out pretty good, maybe the next drawing will be a larger portrait so I don't have to deal with a giant background.

I have updated the saints page - Saints A-Z

What letter should I do next? Comment below if you have any suggestions.

Thank you for viewing this art blog,

Until I draw something else, have a great day!

Egg Painting and ...

 My 2021 Egg Painting

I decided to paint Salvador Dali's surrealistic painting, "Persistence of Memory."

"This interpretation suggests that Dalí was incorporating an understanding of the world introduced by Albert Einstein's theory of special relativity. Asked by Ilya Prigogine whether this was in fact the case, Dalí replied that the soft watches were not inspired by the theory of relativity, but by the surrealist perception of a Camembert (cheese) melting in the sun."

"Many of Dalí's paintings were inspired by the landscapes of his life in Catalonia."

The Egg -

It was difficult to get a good photo because the egg is round so I tried to get multiple angles. Hopefully

you can still see the whole painting. I also made a page dedicated to the egg series on the home page,

you can also see that here, egg paintings page.

Thank you for viewing this blog.
